With climate change and now pandemics affecting our daily lives, ' a sustainable lifestyle ' is being hailed as the only way forward.
In India, working with our hands, and working with natural grasses and fibres is part of a tradition that goes back centuries.
We've been working for over 5 years with clusters of artisans under the Rope Artisans and Craft foundation - and are so grateful for the work they do in keeping these artisans and what they do relevant, accessible and keeping the incredible knowledge they possess and pass down from generation to generation alive.
A week ago, The foundation reached out to us to tell us that they are looking to raise 5 lacs. These funds would go to :
1. Compensate the 500 artisans in the community for job losses during the lockdown
2. Distribute masks, gloves, sanitisers, vit C tablets and paracetamol.
The goal is to support 500 artisans with 750 INR per person as cash support and 250 INR for the kit.
We will be able to offer an 80G tax exemption certificate for your donation.
We are always here to give you any information you need to make this as transparent as possible.
100% of your funds are going directly to the communities that need it.
